OBJECTIVE & BENEFITS

This practical module gives you an opportunity to begin practicing Arabic calligraphy, prepare its writing implements, and study the stylistic and historic development of art. Students will be introduced to Arabic script from the pre-Islamic times to the age of the computer.

 

Duration: -  ONE YEAR

Class Timings: -  (Four days a week)

Admission Criteria: - Through out the year (Individual basis)

 

COURSE OUTLINE

MODULE- 4 (12TH MONTH)

Compulsory Script (Thuluth)

 1st Month

     Understanding of calligraphy history, preparation of material for calligraphy and start of basic

     alphabets of thuluth script.

2nd Month

     Understanding of calligraphy history, understanding of joints of thuluth script nd practice of these.

3rd Month

     Understanding of calligraphy history, understanding of joints of thuluth script and practice of these.

4th Month

     Practice of complete sentences and verses writing.

5th Month

     Practice of complete sentences and verses writing.

6th Month

     Start of new script kufic and its completion, understanding of its history.

MODULE- 2 (FIVE MONTHS)

7th Month

     Drawing of the alphabets of calligraphy with double lead pencils.

     Elective Script (Nastaliq,Naskh,Dewani,Thuluth,Kufic)

8th Month

      Start of new elective script and its completion, understanding of its history.

9th Month

      Understanding  the joints of elective script and practice of these.

10th Month

      Understanding  the joints of elective script and practice of these.

11th Month

      Practice of complete sentence and verses writing.

 

MODULE- 4 (12TH MONTH)

FINAL PROJECT

      Finalize calligraphy of compulsory and elective or mix scripts for final show.
